After deciding to fly into Lukla, there really is only one other route consideration for the typical trekker...straight to EBC, or EBC including a Gokyo Ri circuit. Including the Gokyo Ri circuit in the EBC hike requires a few extra days hike time, and, increases the stress of the hike as you will be at high elevations (above 16,000 ft) for a longer time (few extra days).
