... it was a little bit treacherous, as the stairs were a bit haphazard, but then I guess that was a better option rather than going over it in a barrel. We had another coffee there and chatted to Quoc for a bit while watching a tiny little terrier-esque doggy play fight a dog at least 3 time the size of him, then went off towards some lunch. Vietnam is another South East Asian nation obsessed with karaoke. On the way to the town (I can't remember the name I'm afraid) I swear we ...

We heard that Nha Trang was nothing more than a party beach town, geared solely for the needs of beer hungry Russian tourists, and the bucket cocktail desires of the Brits abroad. - here, as elsewhere in Vietnam, people take "no thank you :) " as an answer, and leave you. Thailand and Cambodia is much more predatory
    - I can't really trim my beard properly because the grader has broken. Last time I used it I had stripes everywhere because the teeth had snapped ...

... wade and I spot Tom Nash, a friend from school who was on holiday with his girlfriend! I'll never understand why you never see these people at home, but manage to bump into them in Vietnam! We arranged to meet later in town and then headed off to the water slides! Despite half being closed, the slides were good fun. There was a theme park side to the island that was appalling but Gus experienced his first roller coaster and I felt sick watching ...

    Beaut of a Ride

A travel blog entry by joemilsom on Sep 06, 2014

We took off early in the morning to head for Nha Trang having organised to meet the majority of out Canyoning group at a hostel there. The drive took us through some sleepy villages the onwards up through the mountains and hills. Very steep both up and down either side but a very fun road to drive going past another person every 15 minutes or so. Eventually we and out of the Forrest areas to the cliffs that overlooked the flats heading onwards the ocean. The ...
