Apparently for the first three weeks after a bear comes out of hibernation it eats nothing but grass to kick start its digestive system. They are about 30% lighter than when they went to sleep so there’s a bit of weight to gain. Wave condition is high today, Lots of people spread out along the shore and in the water but it still doesn't feel crowded.     ... and it is now a protected area. Did you know? The way they estimate the age of the tree is to measure the circumference of the trunk. Matthew enjoyed 2 days surfing on Cox Bay with Jethro & Jonny (from Tofino Surf School) located within the town. The first day was a little foggy but the surf was good.
