... we found ourselves pulling into Cherry Point Vineyards - home of the aforementioned blackberry port - at 9.55am, 5 minutes before they officially opened. Trying not to look like a pair of desperadoes in need of a drink, we had a quick amble over to the vines to take a look and soak in the scenery and kill a few minutes of precious time. Finally we'd exhausted that for as long as we could so we headed into the tasting ...

Back to the lovely Sheraton and a monster breakfast.

This morning the sun rose and presented us with a beautiful day. Maurice went to the beach to photograph the sunrise and then we went into Tofino for breakfast. We had breakfast at the Common Loaf Bake Shop, which had delicious breads and pastries. We sat on the second floor and had a beautiful view of the water and mountains. After breakfast we went for a walk on the Lighthouse Trail which is Tofino's newest trail. The hike is 2.6 km round trip along rainforest trails ...

We were going on a bear hunt!
It takes about an hour to get to the the shores where the bears come down to feed. On the way, magestic bald headed eagles just sat and watched us and the world go by.
Our first siting was the cause of much excitement, a 2 year old male down by the shore, turning over stones to find little crabs. And then there was another, and another. Five in total. They are not a socialable ...
