... at the time as the rantings of a mad man in decline. It has since been revealed via the Freedom of Information act that he was in fact being monitored by Hoover's FBI organisation, who knows whether this was what tipped him over the edge and was a factor in his severe writers block, which is oft credited as the motive for his suicide....sad ending either way.

We then high tailed it to Hailey, about 10 miles down the road for a Mexican dinner and a movie.

... look at. After 7 hours or so we thanked Ranger Rick and started out the door. Just as we were about to leave he yelled to us "Don’t forget to check out the unlimited speed exotic car road rally". We woke up in a most welcoming place after a good night's sleep. Bennett and Sophie made us coffee in Carol's espresso machine, starting the day off right. ... and Amy waded out to where we could float, lay back, and floated! It was very cool. Sophie said she would go back to float again sometime, but for the rest of us it was a once in a lifetime experience (and David had done it when he was 10), but definitely worth doing. It requires walking and wading through millions of brine gnats and brine shrimp, but if you can ignore that for a few minutes it's a cool experience. Definitely not a place ...

... for about ten miles. Here we followed Deadwood Creek up to Stanley and also observed a great number of kayakers on these rapids. After Stanley we again changed scenery to another scenic highway and enjoyed another beautiful drive down to Ketchum. We had not been to Idaho before and were very impressed with the grandeur of each and every of this days ...
