...was a joy! Got in at midnight and were met at the station by my dear friend and former employee Colin Van Bortel Buckley. In the morning, after a quick visit to the sister location of my perennial favorite Pittsburgh coffee shop 61c (this location is called 61b and both are named for the bus lines that stop out front of the respective cafés), Colin dropped us at Phipps conservatory, where we enjoyed orchids and ...

We've planted the bulbs in the garden
We ate the rest of the cheese
And our worried old dog, at peace at last,
Is asleep with his head on my knees
    I've put away the guidebooks,

We spent our first night at the Holiday Inn Express in Belle Vernon, across from Hoss's.

We started the next day with an early morning breakfast at Eat'nPark with our PA friends. After breakfast, we went to see my Dad and grand parents' graves, and then we hit the road.

For the first part of our trip, we took the back roads through Mt Pleasant, Donegal, and more. At Breezewood we got on to the turnpike for the rest of the ride.

    Heading North!!

I had a little adventure, thinking I'd be clever and fly from Love Field...mistake!! The alternate terminal looks like it has been outfitted with the 70's cast-offs from the main terminal...I think the Shreveport airport is nicer, LOL. Despite the thrill of being TSA approved (again!), when I found I would have no Starbucks, I was pretty sad.

Very small plane, but the perk there is not having to pick up my luggage and raise it over my head, ...
