A travel blog entry by jwatson on Apr 04, 2015

Someone asked me about my trail name the other day in the comments, and I realized I had mentioned it on Facebook and to individual people, but I never posted it here. My trail name is Wolf Pack, because of my resemblance to Alan in the movie The Hangover, especially when I'm hiking in my aviator sunglasses. On the north boundary is the town of Gatlinburg, a very cool town with an interesting downtown area full of shops. I highly recommend stopping to visit, much moreso than the tourist trap of Pigeon Forge a few miles north, which is full of amusement park type attractions which I imagine are meant to lure in families with children. ...

If there was a competition between North Carolina and Georgia, then North Carolina would be the winner hands down. The weather has been pretty great for the most part and the views are incredible. The climbs and elevation change don't seem to be nearly as bad either, but that may just be because I'm becoming more accustomed to backpacking every day. Well...every part of my body is growing accustomed except ...
