Today provided probably what Alex and I have agreed was one of the best experiences all trip. We started out the day, ordinarily, cleaning up the condo and getting our bags packed and ready for our Urban hike through NYC tomorrow. I was even able to get some laundry done. Then off we went on our next excursion to try our hand at kayaking a small white water river. This should not be tried by just anyone. Remember, Alex and I ...

Our hosts were out and about early this morning and left the house to us. Seemed odd to be in a stranger's house by ourselves. Set off towards the north, heading for Springfield. About half an hour into the trip, we spied a plume of black smoke starting and growing quickly. About 500m ahead, it turned out to be a small heating oil tanker truck that had overturned, fallen into a ditch, hit a bridge support and spread its load ...

Stayed the Night in Newark and then returned home today. Unpacked and did a batch of laundry. We felt good until mid-After noon and then we felt the jet lag. Took an afternoon nap and not too much later off to bed. Errands, etc tomorrow! While it is good to be home. Making a commitment to a five year retirement plan with the house in the Philippines as our reward is ...

... the magical kinship of J & P, instantly transported into a sanctuary of warmth and love. Phineas, peacefully radiating his sage-like wisdom and Jo nurturing us in her well seasoned, Richmond style hospitality. Maura and I wrapped up in a piney woods plaid blanket, comfy on Jo's handy-worked slip-covered couch. Comfortable conversation flowed as we sipped hot tea ...

... Imaginative renovation includes long verandas and bold inside/outside spaces. The interiors mix striking, colorful style with homage to the generations of mill workers’ families who lived here. The inn and its amenities…breakfast, the pool and more, are outlined a few clicks away...along with the rich attractions of this unique region. Dare to come...to Porches, to North Adams, to the Berkshires. You may never be the same!
