... an eternity, the stairs stopped and we were on top of the peak. It was so foggy/misty, we couldn't see a thing, so we followed the line of the GPS until we found the trig point. And with that, our hike up to the peaks was over, and now we had to make our way down, and compared to the other two peaks, this one went forever. I kept checking the altometre on the GPS, and it was not going down !!! And then the rain came !!! After around an hour of walking in this, we arrived back ...
Horton in Ribblesdale, England, United Kingdom uncle_davros... In its stark beauty it makes this old Protestant feel quite at home but, this ain’t our church. It was built to the honor of St. Cuthbert, a very early saint from Landisfarne who died in 687 C.E. and was buried twice, first in the Anglo-Saxon church at this site and then in this new Church. (The problem with being a saint is they won’t leave you alone.) It is even more solid and beautiful than I remember. You really ought to check it out if you come up this way.
Durham, England, United Kingdom auldsod... pubs in Osmotherley.
The picture is one Him & Her took on their walk - but why anyone would want to photograph snails having their lunch is beyond me!!
Got back home around 5.00pm and then they tucked me up for the night, taking care to do all they needed to settle me down for a long rest.
... didn't charge for the spoke, or for truing up the wheel, so things were going well! But then Brian had to do some additional 'tweaks' like changing the break pads, so it was a hour or so before we were on the road again. My bike needs new breaks as well, but it was too expensive to replace them at this shop.
After cycling awhile, the landscape finally started to level off. What a difference that makes ...
... re cold and wearing jackets at some point! I think the only reason I'm not suffering from hypothermia is because I'm cycling.
Moving from the area of Hadrian’s Wall down into the Pennine Hills today. It was an uphill battle - literally. We were almost consistently climbing up hill. I’ve never spent so much time in first gear before. About 85% was up, 10% was what you might call reasonably flat, and maybe 5% was declines. I ...
... the upset from saying goodbye and not seeing people for a while. However, I was not prepared for the feeling of guilt. At the end of the day Jeff and I have made this decision and if we feel upset than it's our own fault. However, it makes you feel pretty horrible when you make other people feel so upset and make them cry.
... for when we fly in and fly out of places, also have booked accomodation for Fiji and LA... here's a quick run down:

... see in that area.... there are tropical Islands, elephant treks etc so that`s a possibility.
Also just bought a travel book on Peru yesterday, with thoughts of maybe visiting the Inca Trail...
We`ve got a world map covering our kitchen wall, and have started to mark places and add pictures of places, to give us an idea of where we can go....
So as we moved back to Manchester, we pulled down the marquee in couple of days. Then one of us, Thomas was segregated from our crew and send to London. It was quite sad, fortunately he was with Murry, the guy from Edinburgh which was a easy-going kind of guy. For about two days we didnīt know what will be our next stage. Finally, we were send to Yorkshire. Purvis bought there a small family marquee company and sucked it out. So ...
Bedale, Yorkshire, UK, United Kingdom mooza... and Denise had already received orders transferring them back to the United States. Thus, I thought it was likely that this visit was probably the last trip we'd make to Ratho Hall. My premonition was realized a few years later when the Smalls sold Ratho Hall and it became a private residence once again.
While it was goodbye, we left with happiness tempering our sadness. We have gotten to know some wonderful, giving people, who have made us feel like part of ...
