The night before
School's out, work is on pause and the cottage industry is closed for Christmas. It's finally here after months of waiting and we're all beside ourselves with excitement.
The bags are packed (with space to spare thanks to Annette's frugal choice of clothes) and we have even managed to find room for Ellie much to Esther's relief.
We've got so many exciting new experiences ahead of us crammed into a 7 week trip. South East Asia here we come!

Morning of NY
Now on the way to Manchester Airport in a big taxi! Very unsettled after a strange nights sleep, waking up hoping I haven't missed the taxi. Little Mix were at the Dog and Partridge pub in my dream, tried to get a picture but my phone was broken. After trying to assure the little beauties in front of me that my camera phone will work, and my wife has to see a picture, they politely said they needed to go. Liverpool.....Yeh, Yeh, Yeh
... music, so we enjoyed it all. Mind you, we weren’t committed enough to take a Beatles Bus tour, which takes you to places like their childhood homes, schools, Abbey Road, Eleanor Rigby’s grave (yes, she really existed), Strawberry Field (a park), etc.
So, if I had to summarize our stay in Liverpool, I’d say that it was good for us because, in a way, we felt like we were in our 20s all over again. And who wouldn’t like that?

with a weekend of nothing planned I decided to hit the frog and toad to Liverpool to visit me old china Simon from camp. Jumped on the virgin express which was quite a nice ride. I was lucky enough to have an amazing nights rest following my little day trip in Liverpool. I knew I didn't want to do much as I was going to be leaving on the 31st for Scotland. One thing I was dying to see was Formby Beach. I had heard so much about it, and I wanted to be by the water!
