... just kept explaining the we were from the UK which seemed to satisfy our audience.

Dried off, did a bit of long jump and then sat up in the Life guard's chair- it was about 6pm and all the lifeguards had left. The sun was cooling off but the wind was still up. As it happened the hollow tubes at the back of the elevated chair we were all crushed into kept catching the breeze and playing different notes- a really unexpectedly magic moment.

Headed home a bit windswept.

This morning we drove to Falmouth, about 45 minutes, to catch the Island Queen Ferry to Martha's Vineyard. Martha's Vineyard is primarily known as a summer colony, and is accessible only by boat and air. There are about 16000 permanent residents but over summer the population can swell to 100,000 or more. ... team competitive meal making with Tom and James on one team and Ruth and me on the other. Team T&J did BBQ extraordinaire and Team A&R are doing a homage to our holidays in Greece with Greek salad and Mousaka.

Really nothing more exciting today except that Tom has relinquished the driving to me as he is better with maps. I needlessly inspired great confidence by mixing up accelerator and break but ok since then!

Dull day but needed down time.

The next morning we woke excited for the Cape Cod Rail Trail. The bike trail runs for roughly 25 miles up the Cape. It is a very popular thing to do in the area, with access to the trail directly off of Nickerson State Park. We rented bikes from Barb’s Bike Rental. They were nice little 8 speed mountain bikes. We biked north for 8 miles to Cape Cod National Sea Shore. The trails are heavily wooded with pretty rolling hills. The ride was hot, ...
