... European Union, a wreath of flowers atop her head.

I do not know what my friends or guests saw when they looked at the painting on the wall. Perhaps, they thought, Noah just wanted a painting of a pretty girl. Maybe to them it just faded into the background. But for me it was a symbol. It symbolized the rebirth that Europe once promised me. It was emblematic of the beginning a new life, on the far side of the Atlantic.

... the sleepy fishing/holiday town of Sea Houses which was overlooked by Bamburgh Castle. Sea Houses: with a tiny population but with heaps of shops looks like a holiday village. Home to the UK's first ever sea rescue patrol there were many visitors and just as many scuba divers. There was a total of 6 charter boats doing puffin tours, seal trips and island hopping. The girls got into the amusement centre and £8 later we left with nothing. The souvenir shop proved more fruitful ...
