      ... at 4pm and here we are now having checked in. Our flight leaves in about 2 and half hours.

      And so here endeth my blog, God willing we will be back home around 7.30 on Tues evening no doubt feeling shattered.

      It has been the trip of our lives (so far) and we are happy that all our planning worked out. I hope you've enjoyed reading about our adventures, thanks for all your comments.

      Cycling along the river allowed us to check out the locks, there was one which had two locks side by side: one was an old push style lever lock with the old hand ratchets while the other was a fully mechanised pinion and rack geared system the same as the set up we'd seen in just about all of the French canals that we'd been on.
