      Cycling along the river allowed us to check out the locks, there was one which had two locks side by side: one was an old push style lever lock with the old hand ratchets while the other was a fully mechanised pinion and rack geared system the same as the set up we'd seen in just about all of the French canals that we'd been on.       ... of interaction with the crowd Murray doesn’t show a lot of emotion, which is difficult because all the crowd wants is for him to involve them. At one point he yelled out ‘CMON’ and the response almost blew the stadium over!!       ... at about 12.30 to be met by Peter. He took us to Preston Park a bit of a hike from the station. It was bitterly cold and blowing a gale so I was very glad of my possum coat! I think I've worn it everyday since we arrived!
