Great little quirky pub and rooms. Awesome customer service. Room was a renovated attic, lots of history.

Very accommodating staff, adequate rooms, great pub and restaurant. Visit Aldermaston and Tadley and stay at the Hind's Head if you want to get a feel for the real England.

... The shortest way out to the autostrada north turned off from the coast road a couple of kilometres out of town. We started up the mountain road (narrow and winding of course) and very rapidly climbed high into the hills. Even in the pre-dawn light it was spectacular. One day I will have to return ...

... at 9:00 on a Sunday morning, and the quoted fare seemed extortionate, so we legged it back up St Michaels Hill with all our bags and home; a bit reminiscent of San Francisco getting to the hotel, but actually St Michaels Hill is easier! Go home to be greeted by the cat wanting to know where the hell we had been, and how lucky it was that someone else came to see ...

(We had tried Abel and Cole vegetable boxes before where they deliver a box of veggies and fruit each week but it was always too much for us to use up before things went bad and there were always things in there that I had no idea how to cook or what to do with them - the swede, ...
