... ourselves off for a bit of a walk. We then returned to the hotel where we received our complimentary sparkling wine (two bottles, and it was delicious!) and canapés, and drank that whilst playing some cards. Dinner was at the hotel restaurant, some lovely steak with marrow bone, rocky road soufflé and the most massive cheese board you have ever seen! I have spent my last day in Sydney with the family I have been staying with visiting the beautiful Palm Beach, which is also coincidentally where ...

I wore flip flops which was a big mistake as I felt like my toes had been dipped in Syphilis, but I'm glad I can say I've finally been there after hearing so much about it! 16/3 (Sunday) Last full day in Sydney today and just enough time to go and catch the St Patricks day parade through the centre, before washing my clothes and packing to leave ...

          New Year's Eve preparation

A travel blog entry by dianeandmike on Dec 30, 2013

New Year's Eve is fast approaching. We have paid for a place to see the fireworks as many venues are already booked. There are many vantage points and our lookout will be great. There are 3 sessions, 9:00 pm, 10:30 pm and midnight of course. We are so looking forward to it. We had a lovely lunch with Mike Patti's cousin who lives in Campbellton, about 50 minutes from Sydney and I have included pictures of the italian feast. Such generous and wonderful people. Viva ...
