Mike had booked a taxi to pick him up at 6am from the hotel to drive him to the airport, about a 45 minute trip away. He had to be there a few hours before departure. I slept in, didn't hear Mike leave. I had arranged with hotel for late check out, so I didn't have to be out of my room until 2pm in afternoon. I spent the morning cruising around the shopping centre and wandering around Patong township. To ...

... incredible sand and almost completely deserted. Unfortunately, a few problems with the bikes after the trip from Oz...add it to the list! We try to buy local whenever we can and we have had some really great experiences with this so far. ... that are hanging off rock faces and trees jutting from the sea. They clearly know we are coming because there are a ton of them. We then snorkel for 20 minutes and head to the island for lunch. It's terrible. I'm certain I'll come back from this trip 20 pounds lighter because my diet consist of rice or noodles. We scarf down some food because er have to and then start to walk around the island. After about 15 minutes I can tell it's going to rain. We are standing ...

... the big warning alarm system that they have since created.

Christmas day in Phuket was spent on the beach...I cannot believe how inexpensive everything is here in Thailand and it really is true what they say about it being the land of smiles. The Thai people are so friendly and nice. We ate Pad Thai on beach and drank out of coconuts....ultimate nirvana. That lunch cost about $5!

We are staying in Kata, which is ...
