... decided to see if we could get on the plane to Phuket not expecting to make it. To our surprise we were through immigration and buying a ticket at 1700. Twenty minutes later we were sitting on he plane to Phuket, not having a clue where we would be staying. I forgot to add that we managed to grab some KFC on the way to the gate. The day was coming together nicely. The airport is a ways from anywhere and when we arrived we had to decide which minibus we would catch. They ...

It definitely felt like the longest day in history. Woke up at 7am and went for a long jog/walk along the beach, 7kms all up. The beach is beautiful, crystal clear water with white sand, nothing like Bali. After breakfast we got our first Thai massage for an hour which cost $10, I'll be getting one of those everyday! The rest of the ...

It was actually a complete breeze, as when we got to the bus stop, a truck taxi asked us where we were going, and charged us 100 baht each ($3.33) (vs about 30 baht or $1) and nonstop (as non stop as Thailand transportation can be anyway.). With a stop at a gas station, a money and watermelon drop off, and money pick up, we were at Thalane Pier in 45 min. Then we had 10 minutes to find the most unkempt squatter toilet I've ever seen, get some fresh fruit, and get on ...

... formations are caves with hanging bats and stalactites dripping from the ceiling, pretty amazing. I loved this trip, it was something I had hoped to see in China, but never got the chance and to see it here in Thailand was a treat.
Back on land we’ve had a great day on the beach and some fun in town, but now we’re concentrating on finding a place for a longer stay and doing a visa run to Malaysia to extend our ...
