Seth- I love coming back to Penn Yan whenever I can. It really is and always will be home for me. I've been living in NYC for nearly a decade and still I get that 'going home' feeling every time I get into the region. Clean air, clear skies, and nice ...

It was a great 2nd day in the finger lakes! We started the morning by going to Watkins Glen State Park, which is right at the base of Seneca Lake. There is also an amusement park closeby where children can enjoy, and you also get to see a Big Golf Course, with people trying their shots.

Overall a nice place if you are passing by Elmira, or are visiting Watkins, to add to the places to visit. I doubt anyone would like to travel 4-5 hours to just visit this place.

Found the pond with White Lotus flowers here.. and then touched the Indian Trail. Here were some stairs that took us in the caves ultimately ending in the waterfall This was the most crowded area we had seen so ...

... then shuttle back up to your car.

We stayed on the Gorge Trail but you can access the Indian Trail (that has 3 gorge overlooks and more sun) or the South Rim Trail (that has no gorge view and is shaded) near the Mile Point if you want an alternate way back. The bridge under the falls was already becoming a bottleneck at 9:45 with everyone stopping to take pictures underneath the falls. The short spur trail that we passed up in the beginning gave a nice view of that ...
