... t finish until 4:30, but thats the only day we have to stay until late. Because sunset is at 4:30 also, when you leave its all dark and feels really late, but its not. No one has lockers they carry their bags with them and at recess dump tem by this pole in the foyer, so there is an area with about 100 bags just chucked there. Their classes are like lectures, the teacher just talks and they (well not really) listen and then when the bell goes he ...

We had schnitzel and bread for dinner and I gave them all my presents, which they really liked, Julia even wore her Melbourne jacket the on Monday to school.
I got up at 6:15 and showered (it's actually not that cold, I didn't even need the heater on) I had to get assistance on how to use the shower handles, because its very different in Australia. First you put it on ...

OK sooo that's a little update for now! Hope everyone is happy and healthy!

Finishing up Germany

(61 miles) Today, we rode a little too hard and realized that we probably need to slow down a bit. Its kinda the tortoise and the hare bit. We mostly rode today not a whole lot of sight seeing. Chrissy hit some gravel today and fell of her bike skinning her knee. Also we saw a lady on a bike get hit by a car. I guess it's just one of those days? After our long day we showed up at the less expensive very welcoming canoe/camping place.

Yet more fine weather and surprising progress

Departing Regensburg was easy I'm coming back! Todays target was a hostel in a town called Straubing. I'm not sure weather to divide the run to the Austrian border into two or three stops. However the hostel will have food available and as its easter Sunday this is a big advantage. Unlike being in a hostel on the second floor; lots of steps to move your bags. It was dry fine and sunny, not too warm to start with and the path was level. I've found the trip meter and seem to be making 12 ...

Waldkirchen

... we stayed at was a farm house in Waldkirchen, not to far from the main city of Passau. On the farm were pigs, chickens, goats, a cat named Sir and the family baked and sold their own bread, killed their own animals for meat, and were fairly self sufficient. The first night there we attended a local theatre play, in which Claudia´s Uncle, Gäehard was the main role. The show was a comedy drama, and in Bavarian German language, which is very different to the German that I learnt ...

We bought some cold stff for dinner and a candle and had a candlelight dinner in the hotel room - how romantic am I heh?

A Trip to bavaria

... country. But at least in America we know we have issues and race problems that need to be solved, and those are problems that we are attempting to mend. Here, racism is an acceptable means of opinion. Which, in my opinion is worse than what America is experiencing. I hope this makes sense. It's hard to put into words what I am thinking. I have a feeling that one thing I will walk away with from this experience is a greater appreciation for the place I come from.

The competition for first place...

... t want to do. And I just feel horrible pulling on the reins knowing it causes it discomfort or kicking it in the sides etc etc. I'd much rather them all just frolic in the fields and I'd occasionally feed them dandelions and give them a pat now and then... The only thing that has broken up the illusion of the cobblestoned-city is that this morning we had to go to a larger supermarket on the highway, about 20mins walk from the town. It was the first time I had seen a tarred road and ...
