We hit the Avenue of the Giants early and it was like driving into a tunnel. Jst magnificent to see these 2000+ year old tree that have survived so much. Even the fallen ones are awesome to see. So thankfull for the foresight some of our predecessors had to save some of these wonders for us to enjoy. Hope we can preserve something for our grandkids instead of using everything ...

As we enter the channel there are boats heading out to sea and others coming in. Some are impatient with our speed. They pass us. They throw big wakes. These are unnerving due to the narrowness and shallowness of the channel. We rock violently side to side and bounce up and down, hopeful we don't hit the shallow river bottom with our deep keels. We arrived at our motel about when we anticipated, around 8:30. Andy did dog duty while I went to grocery for rotisserie chicken dinner. The rest of the evening was spent blogging and watching the movie "Ted".

I was going to write that the food isn’t much good, but in fact the food is dreadful. The closest we came to a decent meal was this evening when there was steak and kidney pie with mash potatoes on the menu.
