Hi folks back again, having spent a couple of interesting days in Arcata part of the Humbolt county of Northern California.
We sae Coastal redwood trees on the way doiwn. Our host took us to a few interesting spots including Sequoia mini zoo where I saw pink flamingoes and a re panda fro the first time.
She also took us to a natural history museum where there wss an Indian display of basket weaving which I found interesting.

... barely be measured. After a few hours of driving we were ready for dinner. We pulled up at a bikers cafe called 'Bones' and decided to try it. We recieved a warm welcome despite missing a Harley Davidson! After a hearty meal we continued on our way. The sun began to set at 8.30pm, so pulled in at Point Arena to watch the sunset. We all walked down to the beach and had a happy hour as we watched people in kayaks and surfboards out in the water. There were also some abalone divers out there as well. This evidently is the season for free-diving for abalone.
Robert bought some wood from the Campground hose , I collected driftwood pieces and we all went back and had a very nice fire, dinner and caught up on news of each other.
Have got way behind with this blog, have not had wi-fi much lately, so will do a quick catch-up. After leaving Port Angeles we've basically travelled down the coast road from Washington, through Oregon & into California. Will just give a quick run-down on a few towns.
Forks- better known for being the setting for the Twilight series of books. Despite none of the movies actually being filmed ...
