... t open...so we just took a walk along the river. Then decided to head to the train station to inquire about getting on a bus to go see a nearby lake. We got the information about the bus and waited at the bus stop for the no.1 to come. The bus driver asked us where we were wanting to go (because clearly we weren't locals I guess...?) so we told him the lake. Once we had thought we should be getting close I went up to him and asked where ...

I hope to come back to the Alps for Christmas, we'll see. however bein that Interlaken is kinda like Banff, it will probably be very busy and such during that time so, I just have to enjoy my short time now... The bus's in Interlaken stop runnin in between noon and 1pm, I guess its their lunch break! so we had to wait for the bus for about 45 ...

... The Hills Are Alive". You wouldn't fret looking like an idiot, because only the cows would be watching. That's the main industry at Gimmelwald, farming cows. The town is VERY tiny. Their park was about 10'x8' with 2 opposing benches. I agree with Steve that it's worth a quick visit, but don't know about that whole "If Heaven Isn't What It's Cracked Up To Be..." thing. I can think of other places I'd prefer to spend eternity as about one ...

... really helpful for my project.

On Saturday at 5:50 am I left my house to go to Interlaken for a girls weekend. I let my friends plan the trip, since I usually end up planning most stuff, which is how my weekend came to be as it was. My friends used this thing called "Couch Surfing" (it's a really interesting concept, worth taking a few minutes to look into), and traditionally when you couch surf you stay at someone's house for free. Well ...

... and another day of biking around the entire city, we set off at midnight to drive on the Autobahn to Bern. So instead of spending the night on a sleeping train, we took turns driving and sleeping (thank you Alex for the wonderful neck pillow!).

We drove into Interlaken around 9, into GORGEOUS views of mountains and lakes (thanks Jess!!). Because we were pooped from almost no sleep, we spent most of the day sleeping ...

... smells like cows and cheese, even up on the mountain! We saw some of the traditional equipment used to make cheese old school style: in a massive cauldron over fire. Unfortunately we missed the demo. We headed to the town and decided that we were going to have a proper fondue experience. Now I've had fondue in the states where you get all sorts of fruit and veggies to cook, but this was another story. Imagine you live high in the mountains and can ...

A Room with the most Awesome View!

... is quite interesting. I'm definitely in Switzerland. I figured something else out during my walk down Main Street. I am definitely a shopaholic, though you need to actually buy stuff, I think, to be actually classified as one. As I window shop (the stores are closed and I am broke) I see all these awesome things I want to buy. But what I also figure out is that the stuff I want to buy isn't for me. I see something and then think that it would be great ...

A Most Scenic Train Ride

... ze goot side, you can move over if you like", so I got to move over. The views were astounding. You go past 4 lakes, numerous little swiss villages and chateaus, and cattle farms. Going way up out of site are giant mountains, the nearby ones are bare, but the ones highest up are covered in snow. There were clouds and a bit of fog, so it wasn't the best it could have been, but still very impressive. I took some snapshots, but it ...

We got off to get on to our last cog train to head to europes highest trainstation - Jungfraujoch! Its now absolutely freezing! One side of tKlein Schneidegg there's huge green pretty valleys in between these alps and the otherside are these huge peaks that ascent at such a steep rate up and up. The train arrives ...
