... mechanic to finish the trunk and they then invited us to join them in the afternoon at Bass Pro, an awesome shop with restaurant and bar attached. Well definitely way too late to get going on the Trace anyway and apart from which, we really enjoy their company.

So after leading us to Bass Pro, which just happened to be directly opposite the lot where they will be practising and, as it so happens, there is a Holiday Inn there as well. So in we check and what do we notice ...

Finally, after all those hours of driving, we made it to Philadelphia, Mississippi! The people of the town are running The Neshoba County fair where Ronald Reagan gave his first post-convention speech when he was nominated to run for President of the United States of American.

About 7 hours door to door froom a 9am departure from vonore. Campground was fine - reception at the hands of a elderly fellow who lives on the premises - was quick and efficient. "Should have been here yesterday: it was beatiful." For $10 a night, it would've taken a lot to turn this into a bad deal.
