... 5 leaders of the Decembrist's were hanged. Those in high society who were thought to have been friendly with the Decembrist movement leaders were exiled to Siberia, and some ended up in Irkutsk. The wives of the men who were exiled followed them to Siberia. The Russian expression Decembrist Wife is a symbol of the devotion of a wife to her husband. It's probably better if Nik doesn't test whether he has a "Decembrist Wife" or not.

... br> I just stood and was amazing.
Of course it looked even better as the sun was shining in a clear blue sky.

I walked up the coastline until I came to a row of wooden poles (Obo's) with hundreds of ribbons tied to them (remember the tradition of good luck ?).
Beyond that was about 2 miles of white sand and behind it trees of all different colours.

We had a delicious lunch again in a local restaurant , (free wi fi – great chance to post blog and check emails) then we went to the local market, which was very much similar to Victoria Market, with lots of fruit and vegies, meats, dairy foods and so on. It was great mixing with the locals.

We then headed to the wooden mansion of Prince Volkonsky – a Decembrist Revolutionary - who was exiled to Siberia in 1826 for his part in a plot ...
