... some dolphins, a backpacker, etc. We walked along the river for a bit, a wide river, but dammed in places, and with islands, so the bit we were near was between us and an island with a toy train ride on it. There are a lot of buildings in Irkutsk which were built by wealthy merchants, so many of the sights along the way are either ornate buildings, or schools, orphanages, etc which were built and supported by wealthy people. ... too much detail but my nose finally stopped running as it froze on exit and what did escape froze like a glacier on my cheek as I crossed that bridge! The Seal show at the Nerpinarium: the Nerpa seals that live in Lake Baikal are the only seal in the world to live exclusively in fresh water. In the 30 minute seal show we saw two seals perform a range of tricks, such as playing trumpets, scoring a goal, flapping their fins and turning different ways. ... didn't shut the door. So I was a little apprehensive about my belongings. I've heard all sorts of stories about people being robbed while asleep so I decided the most important thing were my passport, credit cards and money. So I slept with them under my pillow.
