      ... Mt. Shasta including a full blown tour of what's-what and price inquiries at all the promising hotels. We ended up staying at the Alpine Lodge, one if the more hiker priced and quality establishments in town. By the time we checked in and set our bags down it was only 6:30 pm. Plenty of life left on a young night in a new place. And guess what? We were across the street from the local Chinese restaurant! Afterwards we detoured ...

      ... breeze since the Anza-Borrego. All the well. There was a bunch up the day before due to Alder creek being dry so quite a few hikers were headed to the same places. We hiked hard all day and then when we finally reached our end of day camp, we saw three other hikers already there. Swig was right behind us so that made six people in a five-to-six person camp.
