Short stop at Belgrade, on the road, then up to this beautiful lake. The Flathead River's various forks crossed our paths several times while in Montana. Boating/resort towns all along the lake front, quiet beaches, tall forests of pine and birch. Very relaxing!

We left our camp site on the banks of the Missouri river and headed for Great Falls, we wanted to return to some of our favorite cowboy shops before heading further north towards the border. As we drove along the road a guy pulled up along side and said our wheels were making horrible noises and it might be the trailer bearings. ... pass, 6200ft, to Lincoln, had lunch while watching the locals playing softball, getting ****** and riding 4wheeler bikes around. As they were heading home that evening they gave us all there leftover food, very much appreciated. yummo!

Well due for a rest day we didn't want to stay in Lincoln and so we pushed it out two more days so we could get to Helena, Montana's Capital. Unfortunately these were the two hardest days we have had. At our lowest ...

But when we get to Montana our boss always takes his crew for a weekend away at Glacier National Park, to prove to us foreigners that America has actually got some pretty places. that was definately worth going to see and i recommend it you.

The road takes you through some wonderful scenery and past some amazing sights. Snow capped peaks, waterfalls, snow bridges by the side of the road, views of glacial hanging valleys......it's just absolutely stunning. The highest point on the road is at Logan's Pass at 6646 ft and this is also where we crossed the Continental Divide. After a brief look around the visitor ...

... us closer to the Rockies where we he showed us another of Mike's great great grandparent's old homesteads. We also saw antelope, several seagull-like birds called coulees and a couple of Minuteman missile sites. Then he took us back through town for some shopping and then to the RV where Shelby gave him one of her homemade rhubarb pies, and we said our goodbyes and hit the road for our long journey home.

About 5pm, we arrived on Choteau, Montana, whose town slogan is "The Rocky Mountain Front". This is where the Montana prairie meets the Rocky Mountains and where Mike's mother's side of the family lived for many years. It's also where a large nest of dinosaur eggs were found and where part of Jurassic Park was filmed. After ...

... We couldn't do much but wait with them until help arrived and make sure traffic slowed down. The ambulance arrived and took him to Great Falls Hospital. The other two were going to call friends to get his bike back to Canada. We settled in for the night at the Choteau City Park Campground in Montana.

While we were out in Seattle, we drove to the cattle ranch that James' aunt and uncle run in Polson, Montana. James loves it here and it was easy for me to see why! We did a cattle roundup on horseback, rode 4-wheelers, and visited Glacier National Park. A great trip!
