... but then I start thinking. With a new car, it won’t break down on me, and it will be less likely to slide off the roads into a snow ditch in the winters, like the VW Bug did that my friend from MSU drove us home in for the holidays. Most importantly, it will be able to go 120 mph easily like our 1963 Chrysler without shaking and making rattling noises.

... dinner/listened to music and just relaxed. There is not cable at this campground, but we don't need it. We did have a DVD and watched a late night movie. At 8:30 it was so peaceful. ... as we traversed Canada and Michigan; many as we drove along. Fellow campers I meet along my route are curious about my traveling alone and how that is working out for me. Basically, it was a choice between staying home or traveling alone – and I wanted to travel. It's not a perfect solution, but it works for me.

Our last night for October was spent in the Camping World in Houghton parking lot, as we needed to get some warranty work done. They have electric hook-up for two campers so it was nice. We did stop for some caches on the way down at Hanson Hills and then did the same in Houghton while we were waiting on the camper. When we left October 1, the house was not sold and we had spent so much time on storage and cleaning of the house that we didn't get to do as much in the camper as we wanted. So we just threw things in and figured we would organize along the way.
