    ... for a turnof to Los Alamos- straight past then see a sign that says no cycles on Freeway - Freeway wt? But TomTom is on cycle route & took us here oh well it's too late we can't turn back now, then another turnoff for Los Alamos so we turn off but there's no other road & TomTom still says go back up there so off we go again. Cycling along waiting to be pulled over by the Highway Patrol but then there's a sign that says end ...

    ... today we rode through Vandenberg AFB and it was very hilly. We climbed 3200 vertical feet and averaged 19.7 miles per hour across 65 miles. I had a great time though!

    We were accompanied for a half mile today by several kids from Oceano Elementary School. Escorted on bikes by the their teacher, they took us past a line up of hundreds of their classmates who were waiving flags and signs and shouting ...

    ... to go back down. The voice came back " don't try to run"
    Wow, was I actually in trouble. I couldnt stop cracking up. I walked down a bit before stopping an looking out at the overlook o L.A. The voice came back. Man by the power line (me) you are trespassing, continue down the hill.
    They were talkin to me... ****.
    Well at least if I was gonna get in trouble I'd have a good story.!
    When I got back to the bottom no cops were there, so I just kept on walking ...

    ... of Pancakes; and some guys were pointing and laughing when we went into one of the shops and said something like, 'and that guy even has a camera around his neck'---at the time it didn't make much sense---now unfortunately it makes a LOT of sense---we are at that stage of being OLD FOGIES. Who the hell knows what the rest of this trips holds for us.

    ... forward like giant caterpillars. They were very noisy too, some of them fighting with each other to assert their authority. It was quite a sight to see, there were literally hundreds of them lining the beach.
