... sunny. The walk in the woods was relaxing, there was still a lot of snow and ice about but it felt like spring was just about to burst through. ... was held in New Jersey which as a place is pretty grim. I imagine if you inserted New Jersey into a thesaurus it would appear alongside words such as dump, dire and Barnsley. The design set within the stadium included two huge cardboard cut-outs of the iconic buildings the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State, both of course located in New York which says a lot in itself. ... of discharge co-ordinators. They go through EVERY bed and give a reason for them taking up a double room (MRSA, C-Diff, Neutropenia (?they get the luxury of a side room?!!) etc). They are a community hosp and have approx 250beds....could you image going into that much detail for around 1700 of our beds?
Geeky stuff...but they don't screen routinely for MRSA (unless they're surg pts) as they don't treat with bactroban. This is to prevent the strain ...

... admiring the architecture and stopping in at the John Lennon memorial. Had a pizza slice for a snack when we couldn't walk anymore then we caught the tube south for a drink the oldest drinking establishment in New York, apparantly it is the oldest continuously running bar/restaruant called Pete's Tavern where the bar staff where American and Irish, the greeter was a snooty student who should really realise she is front of house in a bar not bloody fine dining ...
