Shared taxi bus for $5 to market where we went a block or two north to Sam Sharpe square, saw a few historic buildings, museum, statue of Sam Sharpe, small prison etc, then a block or two north to see St James church which was pleasant enough, popped into a supermarket to buy sauce etc at a fraction of the tourist shop prices (US$ accepted but not the best rate), bakery on the corner near Sam Sharpe ...

To leave the hotel costs you $100 minimum in a taxi, even if it's 15 minutes down the road, then you add on the tour price and tips and it comes very costly. Spent our last day in New York by going to the Natural History Museum (where Night of The Museum was filmed). They had some very impressive exhibits, herds of elephants, dinosaurs, bears, whales, giant turtles etc. We saw some moon rocks, meteorites and some very expensive gems. We did some souvenir shopping after lunch and then came home and started packing. Went out for dinner and had a typical American meal. Massive plates of food were put in front of us, we ...

Montego Stay (aboard, that is)

... have no chips but that is the only criticism I can offer. The buffet is like any other with a daily carving of turkey or roast beef or ham. The cafeteria line does not want for fish or chicken or what have you. Salads and desserts are plentiful and the ice cream and frozen yoghurt machines operate 24 hours a day.

The steakhouse, “The Point,” is quite nice. White table cloths, a decent wine list and—judging by the strip steak I had on the first ...
