        Alarm woke us at 6am neither of us wanted to get up as we had both had a bad nights sleep. At breakfast it looked as though the whole of France had decided to visit. We decide to pack and leave it for another 30 minutes.

        ... on this island "Alex, watch out for that elephant", "Boy, that octopus sure is good", and of course "Mai bpen rai", which is Thai for "don't worry about it!". Yes, there are actually elephants on this island! The elephants are not indigenous to the island (the island is actually named for its shape, which looks like an elephants head), but I can now say I have touched an elephant, fed an elephant, and have even been sprayed with water by an elephant.         ... was being pecked by a psychotic looking bird and another was a simple wooden statue of a man with a very large wooden penis!! The floor is covered in more skulls and some of the massive wooden chairs. It's is a modern temple and was designed by a local artist. Again there is little information about what it represents but must be something to do with death and hell (or whatever the Buddhist equivalent is). The next day we headed back down to Chiang Mai where we had a couple more days. ...
