Home Sweet Home

A travel blog entry by psandefur on Jul 24, 2014

Although we had planned on 6 months we made it 113 days and Terry drove the motorhome 7,478 miles and 6,480 in the Jeep totaling 13,958.

We saw everything we wanted to see and were lucky to have good weather every where we went until we hit the south and got the rain and humidity.

Our next journey will continue next year....Stay tuned.

We made it to Jacksonville, Florida, Thursday, July 3rd, after a real nice evening in Gulfport, Mississippi. I definitely did much better on the room accommodations, landing us just a few blocks from the beach. We used the limited time we had left in the day to walk the beach and then found a great little Italian restaurant called Salute for dinner. Everywhere by the beach was rammed ...

... slow lane). I managed to navigate my way to St Augustine (about an hour away) having looked at where I needed to go on a Google Streetview in the morning and arrived there at about 1030. My plan was to ride in the 'trolleys' as they call them here. They're road vehicles shaped like a train that take you on a tour of the city, with a guide driving it and giving you a bit if history along the way, who stops off at various points of interests for you to get off ...

... kids to try and get autographs...Hayley not releasing that you needed something for them to sign, one of the players gave her a sweaty arm band that he signed for her. She was happy and the night came to an end.

Or so we thought. Juggling Zoe's iPad, my handbag and phone at the arena, I managed to loose my phone! We turned around, and by that time the arena was closed. Bashing on the door until it was answered, I was escorted onto the court ...
