Travel Blogs from Eureka Springs
After getting up early to quit the motel and get to McD's to deliver yesterdays blog I had an easy three hour ride to Eureka Springs where I planned to stay for three nights. Not having reservtions (never do) I found this place Sherwood Court Inn where I booked a cabin instead of the usual motel room. Have posted pice for you ladies to check out …
... 1 National Battlefield Site (correction) 1 Parkway 1 National River 1 National Military Park *Apparently the official type of designation of the battlefields is dependent upon what kind of mood Congress is in at the time of the naming. According to both a park ranger and Wikipedia there really is no rhyme or reason to why some are "Battlefields," some are "Battlefield Parks," and some are "Military Parks." Brices Cross Roads is apparently the only one that is a "Battlefield ...

I toured a funky old house called Quigley's Castle - The Ozarks Strangest Dwelling. Built in 1942 Mrs Quigley designed the house so she could have tropical plants grow inside her house in the ground (soil). The plants reach the ceiling of the second floor & there is a definite ...
... time I have scraped my footpeg is going up Pikes Peak in Colorado. I had so my fun...55 mph road with 15 & 25 mph curves. The yellow signs are recommended speeds aren't they? when I am running the curves all my focus is on the curve - where I am on the road, where the road is going, am I going fast enough and then when I am through it and setting up for the next currve I check on how I did it, could I have done better. It is 6:30 am (5:30 am Arkansas time) and we are at the gate preparing for board the last leg of our flight. We are excited and ready for what God has planned for us. We had about 3 hours of sleep so we are pretty tired this morning. However, it is amazing what a little food can do to perk a group up. Our flight is about 4 hours ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Sherwood Court Inn Eureka Springs
Sherwood Court offered the most welcoming, hospitable stay I've had in a very long time. Nick and Renate went above and beyond to ensure that all of the bikes and riders in our extensive group were well cared for. Towels on every bike each morning for cleaning dew and road grime from the previous day? Can't say that would happen anywhere else. Thank you, Nick and Renate, from the bottom of our hearts for making us feel so welcome and comfortable!
Sherwood Court is like a second home~
I have had the good fortune of staying at Sherwood Court three times so far. I have never stayed at a place where the Hosts are as considerate and friendly! The rooms are always impeccably clean; the continental breakfast is very good with the best coffee in Arkansas, I am sure. The grounds are beautiful, having won awards for Renate and Nicks efforts. Centrally located, you are close to the shopping district, wonderful restaurants and attractions.
I cannot say enough about this establishment or the owners, Nick and Renate. I would encourage anyone I know to stay with them. I can assure you that when you leave, you feel as if you have met family. They go the extra mile to make sure everyone is treated like royalty. You will not regret staying at Sherwood Court!
I have a conference in Eureka Springs every April at the big Best Western across the road. Just by driving by I could tell the Sherwood was much more cozy and homey and opted for that lodging option a few years ago. Was I ever glad i did! Now, I not only stay at the Sherwood for the conference but i make it a point to come back several times a year. You just can't find a more charming community & Inn in the Midwest. The owners are always very nice and helpful. They work their butts off keeping this place a cut above any other lodging in the Eureka area. And if you know eureka, you know there's lots of options. Go with the Sherwood and you wont regret it. The garden-like landscaping alone makes for a special experience. Plus, theres a whole range of different room options from a basic-but-comfy room to a great historic cabin with a jacuzzi. The location is great also-close in but still woodsey with easy shuttle access right in front. I always bring a bike.... and take the road right across from the Sherwood down the canyon to the old city reservior for an outa the way interesting outdoor excursion. Highly recommended.
Our last visit to Sherwood Court was in December 2004. However, we are already booked for future visits. My family loves Sherwood Court because it is the ideal getaway, whether visiting the jacuzzi cottage for a romantic getaway or the Country Kitchen for a family weekend.
The proprietors, Renate and Richard, are always hospitable and helpful. They take exquisite care of the property, including a magnificent garden of floral delight each and every year. The atmosphere at Sherwood Court is always relaxing and inspiring.
We will continue to frequent Sherwood Court for its warmth and hospitality.
The best little Inn in Eureka
We have just returned from a great weekend at Eureka Springs and I know a big part of that experience was the hospitality showed to us by Nick and Renata, the proprietors of Sherwood Court. This is a fabulous Inn with wonderful landscaping complete with a babbling water feature. You felt relaxed and comfortable from the moment you stepped out of your vehicle.
The themed cabins are a must see & must stay! I would advise anyone going to Eureka Springs to stay at Sherwood Court and start your vacation off right!
Budget Cottage Getaway
All the comforts of home in your own private cottage! This is definitely Eureka Springs best kept secret for the budget traveler. Tucked away in the woods, yet walking distance to the Convention Center. Pristine clean. Friendly owners & guests. Margarita sunsets......Thanks Renate & Nick!!!!!

My husband and I, like every couple, wanted a wonderful wedding to celebrate the love we have for each other. Of course the decision as to where to have it is immense. We chose to have it at Sherwood Court in Eureka Springs and Nick (the owner) was kind enough to do our service.
We discovered Sherwood Court last October touring with our bike and it was a most wonderful experience.
We just returned from our trip to ES, we stayed at the lovely Sherwood Court. The Hosts Nick & Renate were very attentive and gracious hosts-you leave feeling like family. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. Our room was in the Lodge section and it had 2 comfy queen size beds, it was perfect for our group.
Sherwood Court is one of the best, if not the best, lodgings in Eureka Springs. We have stayed in several of their cottages and have loved them all. For that special honeymoon or anniversary stay try the Log Cabin cottage or the Victorian Romance cottage. Both have two person jacuzzi's. Although the other cottages don't have jacuzzi's they are also very nice. There are also several motel room units available. There are prices to fit everyone's budget.
