Historical Traveler Reviews Sevenoaks Lake Geneva

      Simply Fabulous

      from

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to take a mini-vacay from Milwaukee, WI. So I thought, let's go to Lake Geneva. It's peaceful, there's the lake of course, and there are good tourist-y things to do. So we needed to find a place to stay, and I did some searching on the Lake Geneva Chamber of Commerce website and came across Seven Oaks. The facilities are simply wonderful. You get your own little house to stay in, complete w/ HUGE bed in the bedroom, living room w/ a flat screen and dvd player, small table, bathtub big enough for 2, and a shower with THREE shower heads. It was so peaceful, and the inn keepers are lovely. Make sure to ask for "Monte" when you arrive, it's their cute Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. :-) Overall, I was very pleased. The inn as of Summer 2007 was still essentially brand new. Our building still smelled like "newly constructed house" which is a smell I like!

Excellent accomodations at very reasonable rates

      from

We stayed at Sevenoaks as a last minute reservation for a trip to the Lake Geneva area and could not have been more pleased. The property has been remodelled within the last year and in our experience our unit was exceptionally comfortable and well-maintained. We stayed in a double unit with a central living area with two bedrooms (one king, one queen) and two bathrooms. One bathroom had a sit-down shower while the other bathroom included a whirlpool bathtub. The beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms were very clean with top-notch furnishings. The living area included a plush wrap-around couch and flat screen TV. The free DVD movie selection was very good. Most units include a front porch area with chairs. The location is quiet, relaxing, and conveniently located a short distance from the downtown area. A bottle of wine and cheese plate await you upon check-in and are a very nice touch. The continental breakfast includes cereal, yogurt, milk, juice, croissant/pastries, and a fruit plate. An in-room coffee maker is provided. Parking is conveniently located next the unit and additional spaces are available. The proprieters are very hospitable and friendly. Overall great experience and I would recommend staying here.

REVIEWER: A "40ish" married couple visiting from Bartlett, IL

      DATE: August 20Tth to August 23rd, 2007

We have just returned from a wonderful 3 day stay at Sevenoaks in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The "bed and breakfast" atmosphere was incredible. Leon and Amanda were excellent hosts, and we truly enjoyed their hospitality. The adult only "bed and breakfast" includes nine separate buildings detached from each other--real privacy amoung the guests. Our building had a separate living room with sofa and flat screen tv, and included a small dining table. The kitchen area was a small counter with sink, microwave, coffee maker, and had a small frig. We were greeted with a complimentry bottle of wine and cheese and crackers in the frig. It was delish! There was also a separate bedroom with king size bed and a hugh bathroom. The whirlpool tub, and separate shower with three shower sprays was fantastic, along with a heated floor and heated towel bars made you feel like you were pampering yourself at a real spa retreat without the high price. There is also a continental breakfast brought to your room every morning, including danish, yogart, fruit, juice and cereal. A nice morning treat. We had an absolutely wonderful and peaceful time, at the adult only Sevenoaks, and paid $179.00 a night (week day). We will be telling all our friends and family to make sure to stay at Sevenoaks when they are in the Lake Geneva area for a real relaxing getaway.

      We'll be back

      from

My wife and I went stayed at Seven Oaks this past weekend for our anniversary. Although the weather was miserable the accomodations were perfect. We were greeted by Amanda and Leon with a bottle of wine and sparkling water for my wife who is pregnant. Rooms are little villas that are very quiet and equipped with a flat screen tv above the fireplace. Heated floor in bathroom with towel warmer and multi-head shower. Bed and bedding were exceptional. Nice porch with 2 new rocking chairs. Continental breakfast brought to your door in the morning. We plan on making this an annual trip and will definitely be staying at Seven Oaks.

      Hidden Luxury

      from

My wife and I booked this as a last minute getaway to Lake Geneva. Seven Oaks offers 9 individual accommodations that are newly constructed. Recently opened this year, Sevenoaks offers luxurious accommodations at a modest price compared to hotels downtown on Lake Geneva yet you are less than a 10 miunte walk from downtown. All rooms feature 2 person Kohler whirlpool baths with seperate stand up shower and heated towel racks. Other features include King Size Beds and seperate living room with a 32-inch flat screen television and DVD player. There is also a small kitchen with refrigerator and microwave. The owners are a young british couple who are very hospitable. A continental breakfast that includes fresh croissants, fruit, cereal, juice, yogurt and danish is delivered to your room each morning. You can also walk to Dairy Queen just a five minute walk from the Inn.

      Loved Sevenoaks

      from

My husband surprised me for my birthday & booked a one-night stay at the Sevenoaks in Lake Geneva. This place was beautiful. It was very clean, pleaceful, romantic - you name it. I like the fact that they were all separate places so you had your own bathroom, bedroom, den & kitchen area. Plus a front porch to sit out on & enjoy the peacefulness. It's in walking distance of Lake Geneva where all the shops & restaurants are so that's a plus. We would highly recommend this wonderful place. We in fact are coming back next year & making it an annual trip. Amanda & Leon were wonderful too.

      Perfect romantic getaway

      from

Seven Oaks was the perfect place for a romantic weekend getaway for my girlfriend and I. All the amentities were exactly what we wanted. From the bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived, to the big jacuzzi tub to soak in, to the breakfast brought to our door in the morning. We had our own little cottage home to realx in. We definitely want to come back. Maybe in the winter time to enjoy the fireplace in the home to cozy up to with our wine.. This place is a must if you are looking for a place to stay in Lake Geneva.

      Unbelievably Gorgeous! Perfect!

      from

Staying at Seven Oaks was a remarkable experience! The rooms are actually little cottages that have been very recently remodeled with the best of amenities. The bathroom was everything a couple could want for a romantic evening; The bed and sheeting was by far the best I have ever experienced.;The kitchenette was perfect to accomodate a week stay; And the living room with TV was the perfect addition to a romantic getaway - most advantageous for snuggling while watching one of the owners top notch selection of movies. Both the lake and downtown were a lovely four block walk away. I highly highly reccomend this location in Lake Geneva. I have been to Lake Geneva many times and this is my favorite location! Kudos to the new owners!

      Total Luxury

      from

I bought my wife here for our anniversary because we loved our honeymoon to England and wanted to recreate the feeling without the 9 hour flight! Our host Leon made us feel like we had a personal butler and from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out he made us feel like royalty. The rooms are spacious, nicely furnished (GREAT sheets!) with lots of 'homely' touches. Enjoying the wine and cheese waiting for us on arrival on the rooms outside deck was a highlight. And well located just a gentle 5 minute walk to the lake. If you are in the area come stay here, if you are not its worth making the trip.

Like Québec, Montreal is an attractive city, but we were surprised to see several groups of homeless people sleeping in alleys and on sidewalks and holding signs begging to cars stopped at traffic lights.

Good coffee. The hotel failed to have any so we determined to find some before getting on the road again. One Starbucks stop later, the adults fully caffeinated and the young ones engaged in their books on tape, we set off to stare at miles of pavement. But instead of concrete and steel, framing much of the road were trees that just beginning to don the beautiful colors of the fall season. Priceline.com ...
