Unlike western gravestones, they do not have any names carved on them. On the second day we were also taken to see a 'baby tree', which, as the name would suggest, is a resting place for dead babies (the other ceremonies and graves we've described are predominantly for adults only as children are not seen as having had important enough lives ...

... driver, legs bent at the most uncomfortable angle and set off for the nearly 3 hour hair raising journey. We had read about a quirky place to stay in Rantapao and were dropped off there. Unfortunately it was booked so Roger and I sat there having a beer while Lee and Michele went off looking for a place to stay. They found a nice place and we went by motorised cyclo to our nice accommodation.
