... we approached Bali the visibility reduced quite dramatically as we headed in to rain clouds; we landed amidst a heavy downpour. Planning to walk to our accommodation this persuaded us to get a taxi which was fortunate as DenAyu isnot that easy to find! The homestay had a lovely temple within which was very extravagant (most families have temples in their homes in Bali which vary in size dependent upon wealth) and we checked in to our AC room - a luxury within itself! ...

... such immense waves. Around 4m tall! On the first day we jumped in and got tumbled around in the ferocious waves. It was so much fun! The seas we've been used to are the bath like still tranquil waters of the Thai islands. But this Bali sea is an ocean of fun. We watched the pro surfers ride the waves, really cool. The next day we did the shopping we thought we would have achieved in Jakarta. We bought trainers and bags and clothes, all haggled prices ...
