Seehof Uhldingen Mühlhofen

... Velo auf die Meiersalp gefahren und habe dort gecampt. Die Nacht war Sternenklar und die Temperaturen auch noch relativ hoch (ca. 5 Grad Celsius). Es wird deshalb bestimmt nicht meine letzte Testfahrt gewesen sein.

What nobody (really) thought to be possible, has been done. I arrive at 17:00h at the same place, where I started this journey the 30.4.2006 (click here) with the same vehicle, the same rider and complete the full scale world trip across all 5 continents happiest and well ...

... quick sites and then jumped back to Switzerland, crossed through Austria for an hour or so, and bam, were back in Germany, hehe....

Now I'm at Sebastian's brother's house, where we will go to sleep soon and visit München tomorrow...

... can watch all the processes they go through to make the cheese, which was pretty interesting! We watched the cheese-makers go through all the processes for quite a while and had a drink at in the restaurant before going back to Gossau for an authentic cheese Fondue!

We got up early the next morning and said goodbye to Heinz and Elsa, and caught our 1st train to get to Prague. It took us about 10.5 hours to get there.. LOOOOOONG time sitting on trains!!

... weren't too interested so they took Lincoln (who couldn't go with us) and we went to have a look. It was a rewarding visit. It is amazing to think how long ago some of those books and transcripts were written, and how well cared for they must be to remain in excellent condition. The library itself is breathtaking, with leather bound books lining the shelves, large windows (no doubt filtered), elaborate woodwork and staircases, and a muraled ceiling ...

We got off to a good start this morning and made our first stop in Winterthur. We walked around looking for the Old Town, and once we found it we walked around some more. We stopped for some street meat for the boys and checked out the cathedral. There are elaborate pipes ...

Just a day trip to see this old city. Lots of brightly painted buildings with ornate oriel windows. Most of the windows were carved with scenes or fancy designs, sometimes painted, sometimes both. Lots of fountains and statues. Found a chocolate shop and pigged out.

... along the path. You are also not allowed to stray from the path. Overall, it is a calm and controlled experience, but at the same time fun since you can let the monkeys eat out of your hands (while avoiding them climbing all over you). We also bought the Bodensee Erlebnis Karte, so we decided to go to Schloss Salem which was just a 5 minute drive away. It is a big castle complex, but ...

... Bronze Age etc which apparently were found at this site. We were pressed for time and so did not spend too much time here. The funny thing was that we took a children's train to the site from the parking area - you should have seen what Frank looked like sitting in the miniature train!!!!!
