    Getting Started
    It's snowing in CT ... expecting up to a foot of snow by mid-afternoon. So far our flight is on time out of JFK, but trying to connect with 10 other people who are coming to Tuscany on 4 different itineraries is going to be a challenge if any of our flights are delayed. But here's to the start of our vacation!!!

    4:30 and we're at JFK. Flight's on we go!

    ... streets, and small shops. The area appeared to be safe, but a little too quiet when you had to walk three blocks from our Metro stop after 10pm.
    We really enjoyed Madrid, and found the cost of dinners to be about one third less than New York. Overall I'd say that the cost of living was much lower than what we're used to, which translates into a relatively affordable city to ...

    ... seem to basing a lot of my sightseeing around food.... o.O. Celebrated my Uncle Andrew's birthday with a traditional Cuban Christmas feast of rice, black beans and pork.. mmmm and a Carvel Ice Cream Cake ( hmmm still all food based..) Went and saw the local fire station put on a Christmas thing of cookies and hot chocolate( ok this food thing is beyond ridiculous now..) and they had characters like Woody and Elmo there too, Lenny enjoyed it! ...

    ... which meant that every step you took the ladder would twirl and spin in a 360. Alright so I came up with my first ingenious plan: having a partner hold the ladder straight while i climbed up, that way the ladder wouldn't spin and knock my feet off. Finally made it to the top except now my friend and I realized that holding that ladder took a lot of strain in our upper body and we were getting exhausted quick.
