... Trinity, for their "Jesus in Rest" sculpture, looks a little like Rodin's "The Thinker." This church also housed an intricate Marienalter, which could change panels depending on the church's religious holidays and feast days.

Now back to our plaza, the Upper Market Square or Obermarkt. Quite impressive, lined with antique stores, eateries, and other interesting shops, and the buildings are stunning.

... I bet there were mixed feelings from the locals.

A bit of shopping after that in a department store we'd also seen in Prague that we liked. David bought some new black shorts and a T.shirt to satisfy his T.shirt fetish and I found some funky tartan underwear to wear to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo! Don't need it, but was cute and I may as well stick with the theme....not that I plan on letting any of the locals see it haha.

... that because of rail maintenance this was the end of the line and everyone would continue on bus to Görlitz. If it hadn't been for another good travel Samaritan who was seated across from us, we would probably still be on the train. ... in such a hurry in Gorlitz. The first ice-cream isn't great so we bought the 2nd one. Both are just 1 euro each. The towers are pretty and the city is romantic (of course I wasn't feeling romantic). Overall, Bautzen was a nice surprise. Originally I planned to stay a night in Gorlitz but after checking that the walk from the station to the hotel was such a distance, I stayed an extra night in Dresden. Good that Motel 1 in Dresden was nice :)

Only update were I'm now.
Cut my day a bit short yesterday, because of bad weather. Stopped just short of Goerliz.
120 km, through wet and slippery bikeways, crossing the "Saxon Schweiz", very challenging!
It is 6am now, will have breakfast, the weather looks good, will leave towards Wroclaw Poland, was formerly under German rule called "Breslau ...
