    ... heard this, I had to do a little research. There are 4000 villas and apartments on the island. The web site has homes on the beach listed for $20 000 000. (converted to Cdn). There are two more palm islands currently under construction.

    ... NY (and built two of them) and the water fountain show that is "25% bigger than the one in Las Vegas", or so the story goes. After lunch we visited the famous Dubai Mall. The place is huge! Shopper friends, there are 1200 stores at this mall - now that's some shopping. There is even an aquarium, an ice skating rink and a grocery store for variety. Lots of US stores, too. Gap, Bloomingdales's, Sephora, Pottery Barn, Claire's, Quiksilver ...

    ... least (we reckon it is fractionally bigger than the camper vans we hire in Australia) we have a fridge, hob and ensuite, so it is proving very comfortable and convenient. The first two days we spent recovering from jet lag and getting some welcome exercise walking around. It is such a pleasant city to wander around after Dubai.

    ... every half and hour... I thought for a moment we would miss our flight..and realised my travel sussed-ness is quite rusty..
