... on the ground in the UAE. Once moored up alongside or what ever one does in the aviation world with a plane, it was off and into the terminal building where we queued for immigration, but it was worth it as I got a stamp in my passport. A nail bitting spell was spent waiting for the checked in luggage which didn't seem to ever arrive, although I'm pleased to say it did eventually turn up. After another lovely breakfast we headed of to the Dubai Mall to go to the top of the Burj Khalifa. We shared a taxi with two young women from Canada and were able to take them to the Burj as they were running late for their reservation - they were very appreciative. At 10.45am it was time for us to go to the top of the Burj - this is the tallest building in the world, being 824 metres. It was ...

... to mention the most beautiful mosque I've ever seen - Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.

We rode the ferry across Dubai Creek to wander the alleys of the Bastakiya area in Old Dubai. It's filled with restored old houses that are now galleries, cafes and artisanal shops showcasing beautiful works from Dubai and all over the Middle East. We ducked into a few ...
