We got up early and packed our cases, we were leaving Langebaan behind and heading to Stellenbosch. After a couple of nights enjoying wine country, from there we would leave for Cape to spend the remaining few days of our holiday. On our way we visited Babylonstoren, a place recommended to us by a guest who was staying at the lodge in Kruger. A lovely place with rows and rows of fruit trees, veg plots and so much more! Then it was ...!

Woke feeling like absolute **** so spent the morning in bed while ryan, graham and Yvonne went for breakfast. when they returned my request for a watermelon had been granted, albeit it had to be purchased from a manny at the side of the road! We hacked it up with Graeme's machete and enjoyed a slice each. We juiced up the rest and made several litres of delicious sweet ...

We retraced our steps back to the park today and manged to avoid the temptation of the bird hides and headed for the Atlantic Coast. We still had to run the gauntlet of tortoises, lizards, birds, bugs, snakes, deer etc as we made our way along. How anyone manages a speed over 20 mph in this place without slaughtering a ton of wildlife is a mystery to me!
    The coast was wild ...

    All creatures great and small.

... Moving on to the next hide we had weavers and ducks and geese and grebes and harriers......phew! In amongst all this we also saw more tortoises, steenbok, duikers, ostriches, 2 enormous puff adders and a herd of eland and a mongoose. Exhausting!
We had dinner at Pearly's on the beach and watched the sunset with ridiculously cheap cocktails and exceptionally good grub.
What a fantastic day......and we get to do it all over again ...

    ... the next test series.........
We had a lovely drive up the coast and arrived at our hotel in Langebaan to find a spa voucher and a bottle of champagne waiting for me! All courtesy of Steph and Hayley - a lot of conspiring has occurred I suspect! Cheers ladies!!
We had a lovely meal at the hotel and drank the fizz of course! A stroll to the beach in the darkness revealed nothing but lights in the distance. We would have to wait another day to see how lovely it ...
