    ... does not support vegetation as does the rest of the Alps. This gives them a stark and rugged appearance. The roads which are the favourites of thousands motorcyclists motorcyclist were constructed during WW I. Although the speed limit on the pass roads is 50km/hr, it is a local race track for riders. Today had been a very enjoyable days riding and I felt tired but very content. The evening meal in Corvara topped off a great day, as we swapped experiences over the meal ...

    What a silly man I was.     ... put them both together for the Granfondo. We are not doing the full 136k route, just the shorter 105 k, which isn't just shorter, it avoids the nastiest climb. Today's big climb was tough enough ... Just went on and on ... No flat spot, nothing under 4% and peaked at 12% I think. Was cursing to much to look to closely at the bike computer. Scenery was amazing, sorry only got a couple ...

Had some suggested plans for us on surviving the Maratona, right down to which back pocket you put what food and consume at what stage during the ride.
