For our last evening we had a little stroll around the village and Jayne bought some knick knackeries for the folks back home. As the local scran hadn't come up to scratch we decided on some Chinese food. We ended up in an authentic restaurant called Hong Kong 97, strange name but there you go. ... we'd turn back straight away. I told her it would be fine. I don't think it was that bad, the thing that made it look worse were the swells. It's the Atlantic so when it gets churned up you'll know about it. The swells were between 10 to 15 foot and when we headed into the wind you knew about it. I'd say there was a force 6 blowing, ...

... There was a quiz going on and the winning team was ably assisted by Jayne & myself. They won hands down but didn't give us any credit for it or any of the Champagne that they won. Lesson learnt, knowledge is something best kept to yourself. We finished the night off with a couple of glasses of vino collapso on the balcony as the deluge had finally stopped. Tomorrow we were going to try and get out for some jolly japes on the high seas.

So, has anyone famous lived here? Well the most famous former resident was none other than Francisco Franco & from here in 1936 his plottings led to the Spanish Civil War. I havent seen any memorials to him here, so I guess the locals are not too fussed about him.
