... and cost $14 each in administration fees. After clearing customs the advantages of only having carry on were made very clear as we sailed through border protection and were in the front of the line for buses and taxis etc.

... whilst Jonathan perfected the 'stop-in-any-space-wherever-to-take-pho tos' manoeuvre. It was Ben who got the first glimpse (prize $1) of the Hollywood sign at one of the official viewpoints. We also got the first family selfie here. Despite a couple of U-turns (American road signs are rubbish - hopefully we will perfect reading them before we get the 30 foot RV!) we navigated our way to Hollywood.

... fit in!

Marc and Leslea drove us one last time on "that" freeway again this time to the airport.
We had such an awesome time with the family, it was so sad to say goodbye. After hanging out so much it was horrible knowing it would be a few years until we could do it again. :-(
Tho I did have visions of Leslea and Marc singing "Sorry to see you go" joyfully as they drove away from LAX!!!

... are called different things to us here so when
everything is new it's hard to work out that they're called things
like Ralphs, Pavilions and Smart and Final. So after trying Costco
and their $1.50 hotdogs with drinks, we hugged Shanna goodbye and
headed to Walmart (yes, yet again) to buy some more RV supplies.
Think setting up a very very small house and you'll get why we are
back there so often. Even now I have just added big chopping ...
