    ... locked and it appeared that the hotel next door could access it but "El Carib" was caged-in. Probably to protect the poor unsuspecting folks on the beach. When we went our room which looked liked a disaster and smelt really bad. No balcony and the only view was of the car park. The Everglades is huge, and you can only see a very small portion of it via road ways, but what we did see was wild and untouched by humans. The end of the road was a visitor center and marina.     I guess we should have asked more questions at the front entry gate. However, I think we both thought the man at the front gate should have been a little more helpful, especially considering we were obviously not regulars here.
