    Today was a good day exploring Vermont. We saw lots of great covered bridges. Designed like this to stop the bridges getting icy and also to preserve their longevity.     ... the environs. The walk down via the Faulkner Trail was longer and in essence harder as it involved much zigzagging across the beautifully wooded slopes. It was a relief to be out in the open air with only the occasional chipmunk for company.
