The Holiday Season
... begin! We had some couchsurfers stay the night, so we drank with them in the plaza before eating at Pizza Wasi and then hanging out back at our place.

The bus pulled into the square at 11pm, we were both glad to be back in civilisation again and looking forward to spending a few days feeling healthy in Cusco and resting our weary legs. We were over the moon with the trek, it had a good amount of hiking and time for socialising, the people we were with really made it for us and we were looking forward to meeting up the next evening for a meal and then again in Arequipa, our next destination for Christmas.

... including John who hurt his knee and ankle. Some parts of the path were uneven whilst others were very slippy. It was not a nice part of the journey. The miles of jungle mountains next to the path on the other hand were so beautiful. It took us about 3 hours on the Gringo Killer stairs to reach the campsite which is close to the Winaywayna ruins, we luckily arrived as it was going dark.
