... smells of fresh paint. The bed is big and comfy with 4 soft pillows. No decor. It is basic. The price was right and most of the guests we talked to were leaving on a cruise tomorrow. That includes a pack of Asians who were filling up their plastic water bottles with restaurant water. There's another story there, but it will have to wait. Tomorrow our shuttle leaves at 10:30 am. ... 3 shows: at the Serpentarium, the Jungle Theater and the Parrot Bowl. We looked at all the macaws, cockatoos and other animals on the way to the Serpentarium where the show was put on by Dr. Wasabi who reminded me of a younger Jack Hanna. We saw exotic animals including a porcupine from Africa and Lemurs from Madagascar, yes they did play the music from Madagascar the movie. ... a smooth trip back to Cincinnati, with the exception of Carol having a dead battery in the cell phone lot. A good Samaritan gave her a jump, and without much of a delay, we were all delivered to our appropriate residences.


All in all, it was a good trip. We had fun together, the waters were smooth, and we got to see the Panama Canal.

... is very unusual. They were U. S. Coast Guard boats with manned machine guns on the deck. We couldn't believe it!

It was only after dinner that we heard of the bombing that day at the Boston Marathon. I guess they were taking no chances with any of the cruise ships. There was a reason they remained alongside until we left. Thank you, Coast Guard security.
