        ... the "hop on, hop off" bus tour around the city to make the most of the limited time we had. The tour was in two halves - one round the city centre and the other one covering more of the outskirts including the very picturesque Stanley Park area.         ... In the very dry areas of the prairie the lack of water is becoming critical. These areas are very close to desert now and it would not take much to push them over into that state.However, on a more positive note, we also met many people who are devoting their lives or at least their free time to mitigating the impact of these changes. We got about 1.5km into the ride and we were routed into the forest where we continued for about another 1km before releasing it was a one way track and we needed to go anti-clockwise!!
