... are gorgeous narrow pathways and the light is just brilliant. After purchasing the garden Yves St Laurant and Pierre Berge continued the restoration and opening it to the public. After the death of Yves St Laurant the gardens have been given back to the City of Marrakech with Yves St Laurent's studio and house as well as a Berber Museum. There are many Yves St Laurent items for sale.......at a price. We enjoyed a few hours and I am sure I benefited from high oxygen intake! Yesterday ...

The hotel looked palatial and glamorous in the misty rain and uplighting as we arrived, but closer inspection showed hasty, crude workmanship. The 'jacuzzi', for example, was finished in rough tiling that would have felt like a cheese grater on the skin, and all electrical sockets and fittings were loose. None of this mattered, we would be gone the next day, but there certainly were a few dirham to be made from tour groups, and establishments like this seemed to be springing ...

... pool and deck which afforded fabulous views over the impressive Ksar Ait Benhaddou. Wrapped around the side of the hill, this Kasbah is a dramatic sight and with the lush green palms in the foreground the contrast once again had us visually delighted, only here we also had the refreshing blue of the pool adding a further dimension. Whilst the temperature of the pool was a little too invigorating for myself, Rod could not resist taking the plunge.

... the courtyard! Many riads have swimming pools however the one we stayed at didn't but we could use the facilities of a nearby riad which was handy. Not a animal lover myself I don't appreciate the small kittens and cats alining the streets! There are numerous cats in the streets and market areas and even in the cafes and restaurants!
