I powered through and finally made it through Pennsylvania. By the end of it, both my feet and shoes needed a break from all the rocks. After crossing the PA/NJ border the rocks continued for another 15 miles but then slowly, to my relief, they began to subside. Maybe it was because I was tired of hiking Pennsylvania, but I really enjoyed the New Jersey section on the trail. Just before crossing the NY border the weather began to change for the worst. ...
... and had a happy hour drink and appy and then went grocery shopping in Walmart. After everything was put away we walked over to the Red Line Diner and had a delicious supper. Clarence had meatball sliders, Gail had turkey, Jim had is usual fish and chips and I had friend chicken with mashed potatoes with a biscuit and veggies. While making sure we had the right street on our Rick Steve's map a local businessman stopped to offer his assistance...and his business card and to show us his jewelry shop which has lovely jewels..."Please come in and see for yourself" while he took my hand...Shades of Spain when we were kanoodled into a leather shop!
Dar took my other hand, thanked him and told him we would be by later...whew Artin Fine Jewels almost ...
