While we were talking at the Maple stand, the guy next to us said immediately, "Are you from New Zealand?". Which was unusual as 99% of the people ask Australia or England.

Elizaville is a tiny town in the centre of the Hudson Valley.
A beautiful valley which the mighty Hudson River runs. Seems a great growing area for produce. Apple and stone fruit orchards but varying standards with tidy intensely planted orchards to run down ones, with wide plantings and old dying trees. Most on hill sides as land not flat in region.

I don't remember how I learned of this event but I asked Kara if she were interesting in going on a garden tour of the Mohonk Mountain House. We would have to get up very early to drive down to the New Paltz area to be there for breakfast at 8 am! But we made it!
