Today we rested. We got up late, had breakfast and then proceeded to watch films. It wasn't a productive day but we felt we had earnt a day of recuperation. We were going to head out into Esbjerg to see the centre but it rained constantly from 8am to 6pm hence we opted for the cosy, warm and dry option of staying in the house. More great countryside and ****** signs, but eventually we drove into the village of Jelling and then found the site of the Jelling stones, mounds and church! The museum first, it was sensational, brilliant interactive displays and a roof top terrace to look out over the two burial mounds with the church ...

... There were lots of small conifer trees and it all gave the impression of lots of individual gardens - all very well kept.
In the cathedral square preparations were being made for a concert.

The cathedral was described as the largest granite built church ...
