2 hours in Monaco

ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.

Nice

I know I always write the same...great weather, such a nice city, good food....but I have to say that Nice was a (very) big surprise for me, I can say that it is my favourite city in Europe (ok, number 2 after Lisbon). You have the mountains, the Cote dŽAzur (when you see the water you know why the name is Cote dŽAzur), the market with fresh vegetables, fruits, honey, oil, soap, you have great restaurants ...

Less than 4 weeks to go.....

... gesture. We can't change the world but we can change the way these children start off in life and who knows where that will lead....

It is less than 4 weeks now until I leave. There is much to do. I am trying to prepare myself for "teaching" 20 - 25 children. A bit of a challenge that. Much as I have known that I have always wanted to do something like this, now that it ...

Boring drive day so here is life in Scooby

... we still would not be being tourists until 10am at the earliest. Because of our limited space Kim has become much more aware of the amount of rubbish we throw away as we have to take out the trash after every meal. Upside to Campervaning... the freedom is great. You can go to all of the little villages which are so difficult to get to when your backpacking. You're not tied to accommodation bookings or having to hunt out hostels on arrival to your destination. And you ...

... curly so it really isn't surprising that accidents are a regular occurrence.

Monaco is the world's second smallest country (after Vatican City) less than 2 square km, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in decadence! Streets are manicured, lavish hotels and casinos line the waterfront, and the harbour is chock a block with gigantic, plush boats.

Once we arrived we visited the Palais du Prince (or ...

... meager with dinners, eating whatever the roast of the day was at the hostel for 6.50 or slightly dodgy pizzas, which were sometimes nice, and sometimes not. So yeah, nice to treat ourselves.

Our stay in the hotel was was lovely and we've decided to try and treat ourselves before we get to that shabby state again. Its amazing how quickly you forget the basic luxuries; one bed without a seam or a bar in the middle, one doona to share rather than two small single ones, a bathmat and ...

Living like a prince

... Martins, Bugattis, Porsches, ect. – it was ridiculous. Equally ridiculous is how cheesily dressed up everyone is – but he to each their own.

We head home after a nice night and open a bottle of wine, relax and wish we didn’t have to leave in the morning. Then again we are headed to St-Tropez and if there is a place that can challenge the excess and luxury of Monte Carlo…it is St-Tropez!

... my hands with bottled water because I couldn't find the button for the tap). That's about all the newsy things I have for today. I really hope all you lot are doing okay. I haven't been all that good at keeping up to date with the news, but I couldn't quite escape what's happening at the moment. I don't know the whole story, but from what I can gather things are pretty hectic. I've never been given to alarmism, but this is the first time ...

Part Three- Onward to Campsite, Monaco and beyond!

... Monaco' - overlooking the harbour. Walked the track and then Ness and Graham went round it in Ferraris. Ate out in the evening at the Racasse (or famous Ferrari parking space...M Schumacher!) - Spent the next morning catching up on the tan at the swimming pool then found a nice bar to watch the British GP. A perfect sunday me thinks. Spent the next few days doing a bit of sightseeing - Vence, St Paul de Vence ...

Monte Carlo a Nice

No Francuzi si ich nadsene prezerali. Okolo obeda sme prisli do Monaca a jeho hlavneho mesta Monte Carla ...
